Mommy Files: Bullies

My child may have had his first encounter with a bully.  I think.  Yesterday he came home upset because one of his fellow campers pushed him down in the pool, luckily he survived but this morning he told me he had a nightmare that he drowned.

Now I’d like to think I’m among the more civilized mothers in our society, certainly more restrained than this mom.  But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to pull that little pool pushing ninja up and give him a piece of my mind.  But alas, when faced with the little terror I kept my cool, took a few deep breaths and went on about my business.  Later today I’ll talk to his teacher and pray that this was just a one time thing.

Kids will be kids, right?

Still I wonder, is it possible to prevent your child from becoming a victim of bullying?  If not, what’s a parent to do?

We’ll talk about it tomorrow on Cocoa Mode.  Tune in @ 9:00amET on SiriusXM 128.

  1. Your right kids will be kids, but if his “fellow camper ever does this to him agian then try talking to his mother about it and if that doesn’t work try contact the school board. That’s all I can say about the matter. Hope this helps.
